Happy Tails
Tilly aka Canela
We said we would have Tilly's story and why we have her. First pure breed dogs have their own health issues, making them susceptible to immune issues. Tilly had demodex mange that went untreated and became a severe skin infection. Her owners put motor oil on her to kill the mites, but her mites were not contagious. Motor oil is toxic to any living being. She was brought into the Hancock Park Veterinary Clinic to be euthanized. But they refused to do it and had the owner relinquish her to the clinic. She then began her healing and new life. She was treated for 2 months and loved by everyone there. She was ready to go to a foster or rescue to continue her healing and find a forever home. We got a email and a detail description of how she came to the clinic. Isn't it wonderful that there are still vets like Dr White who really care about the animals and a staff that loves them too. She was so well taken care of and I know it was hard to let her go. Canela is now in our care, settled in to her foster home. We made sure she is very, very close to us since she needs baths for her skin and especially her feet. Poor thing, how did she ever walk with her feet so swollen. They are of course better now but still a little swollen but healing. She looks better everyday.

She is 2 years old, good with other dogs, cats, and kids. Canela is already house trained. Not to long ago her hips were x rayed at the clinic and they are good. She is the perfect big dog!
