The highest level of Dharma is non injury to all living things.
Dharma Rescue for Cats and Dogs is a non profit organization rescuing cats and dogs. We provide them with shelter, spaying and neutering, medical care, and rehabilitation. Our rescue journey has given us the ability to care for abused, critically ill, disabled and senior dogs and cats. We offer medical assistance funds to individuals rescuers that cannot afford medical bills.
Our goal is to have a Wellness Center where dogs and cats can heal in body, mind and spirit. A Center where the community can go to for help, for information on caring for their cats or dogs, and a place where the animals can live until a loving forever home is found.
Who We Are: Dharma Rescue for Cats and Dog is a registered 501 (C) (3) Non Profit Organization, Tax ID #80-0266821. We are based in Torrance, Southern California.
Our funding comes entirely from donations, our adoption fees and fund raisers. We do not receive any City, County or Government funding. Your tax deductible donation is used 100% for the welfare, and veterinary care of the animals while they are with us.
Dharma has many deep levels of meaning but simply put it is the law or creed. To us it is the law of life. The highest level of Dharma is non injury to all living things.
We have been rescuing dogs and cats for 10 years. During that journey of rescuing we found that the animals we rescued had emotional issues and sometimes health problems. Conventional care helped them physically for that time but not permanently or emotionally.
We attended many holistic seminars and consult with holistic vets across the country. We incorporated what we learned with our rescuing. We learned to use flower essences, homeopathy, diet and other alternative treatments to help our animal friends. We found animals we rescued responded better and were happier and healthier.
Our method of caring for the animals does cost more then what most rescues will spend but we do not compromise on the quality of food, litter, water and vet care our rescues get. We are in need of donations, sponsors and volunteers to help care for the animals and to reach our one of goals, which is to have a wellness center for the rescues that are old and ill and to continue educating alternative care.
